And while the GuiltyBeatz-produced tune’s domination across various R&B rankings shows no signs of slowing (having already soared to the upper heights of Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, Adult R&B Airplay, & Hot R&B Songs lists respectively), its progress on Pop tallies is of particular note.
So much so, ‘Need’ recently marked a career milestone for the Nigerian diva.
Tems’ ‘Need’ is found at #37 on the refreshed Hot 100 in its 23rd week of charting. Here are the numbers that secured the placement.
- Streaming ≈ 4.2 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales ≈ 400 copies sold
- Radio Airplay ≈ 26.9 million audience impressions
Powered primarily by radio, ‘Need’ – already holding the personal record for becoming her first solo top 40 hit on the Hot 100 – is now also her longest-running on the hitlist.
The previous title holder, her 2022 breakout single ‘Free Mind,’ stayed on the chart for 21 weeks.
Among all her hits, however, 2022’s Drake and Future-led ‘Wait for U‘ remains her highest-charting and longest-charting smash to date having peaked at #1 and stayed on the Hot 100 for 41 weeks.
