Madonna and Charli xcx have officially taken their mutual admiration from the dancefloor to the studio.

After weeks of teasing their first musical union, the Pop provocateurs have unleashed ‘Danceteria Afterhours,’ a fresh incarnation of one of the standout cuts from Madonna’s blockbuster ‘Confessions II‘ era.

As reported, the pair confirmed their collaboration last week following months of increasingly public displays of mutual appreciation.

Now, the finished product has arrived.

Produced by Madonna, Andrew Watt, Cirkut, and Stuart Price, ‘Danceteria Afterhours‘ reimagines ‘Danceteria‘ from the Queen of Pop’s chart-topping ‘Confessions II’ album.

Its inspiration reaches back even further, nodding to the legendary New York nightclub of the same name that played a pivotal role in Madonna’s early career.

The release follows the duo’s Club Confessions party with Saint Laurent during Paris Fashion Week and a string of playful social media exchanges that helped fuel collaboration chatter.

And the timing is apt.

As reported, Madonna will open the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday (September 27), with her first performance at the ceremony in 23 years.

Initially announced with 11 nominations, Madge’s tally has since risen to a career-high 13 following the addition of the VMAs’ social categories. She remains the most nominated artist of the night.

Quite the week for the Pop royal.
