As previously reported, Usher and wife Tameka Foster are featured on the cover of November’s issue of Essence magazine. Check out a few extracts from their joint interview: Usher on how the media and bloggers reacted negatively to the news of his engagement to Tameka Foster:
“It was like, wow. (Getting married) and having a child is something that everyone should celebrate. What’s happened to us as a culture and a people? I’m not ignorant, so I’m not going to go out there and lash out….”
Usher on how he and Tameka have stayed strong:
“Ours is not a typical love story, but it is a true one. Tameka and I have been fortunate enough to go through the thick of it in the beginning. We’ve had that opportunity to huddle up as a team, to make sure that we’re clear and speak as one voice.”
Tameka on when she knew to trust her instincts, instead of her girlfriends, about starting a relationship with her future husband:
“Thank God I didn’t listen to my girlfriends…. Usher was my road dawg. I’d seen him love, and I’d watched him date women who were not worthy of him. He was so sweet, going out of his way to cater to their every need. And I’d see them not even be grateful.”
Tameka on falling for her husband:
“I feel totally uninhibited with Usher. I’ve never been in a situation with anyone, even as far back as high school, where there were no secrets. I know I can tell him anything and he’s not going to judge me. I can finally share my dreams. And because of that, I know that man loves me.”
Blah. I find it funny how they totally dodged anything to do with the controversy surrounding Usher’s mom and their marriage. Though I don’t really care for their union, I still think there’s something kinda ‘off’ with it – no matter how much they profess their love for one another.
Well I suppose people shouldn’t be all up in their grill but cha I don’t care for all these two either one minute there like stay outta my business the next they doing interviews, make up your mind Usher and Tameka please shut your blow wo no-one don’t wanna hear from you if you hushed your mouth maybe peolpe would start to like you and no tthink your this b**** who pushed his mother outta his life,
But on the real Usher is a grown ass man if he wants her then whatever but question how long has this woman been pregnant? it seems like ages to me and now she’s got a small bump, and another question where the f*** are her other kids!!!!! she’s all up on Usher no-one comes before your kids she’s a stupid b****
I hate Tameka
I find his first comment about not lashing out a bit wrong … I mean, what was the whole take down the web site about? He may see it as protecting his wife, but really, it was a tantrum.
I find it funny. . .If their love is so real, why are they trying so hard to stay in the media and prove everybody wrong? It will NOT last. It seems from the start, Tamkea has had a hidden agenda. She was around when Usher was with Rozanda “Chili.” As always, what she has done to others will be done unto her.
They both need more people.
Tameka said that she seen him love, been watching him all the while neglecting her own marriage. If she wasn’t so concerned with who Usher was dating and loving, her first marriage may have had a chance.
Neither of the two aren’t fooling anyone. I have to agree, Tameka had a plan set since Chilli, and everything has finally came to full circle.
Tamkea is one of the most hated laddies that I’ve ever seen!because in the fact that Usher need some more help what we can go worng?…
I don’t think its right to begrudge someone because they are happy. love just like people change with time and there are all kinds of chalanges in life and in a marriage. I hope they are happy. And as far as his relationship with chili no one can interfere with your man loving you unless he allows them to so don’t blame tamika. If he or she were cheating while they were with someone else then they were wrong. But its a good thing none of us live in glass houses huh? Famous people have a right to private lives they probably just felt pressured by his fans to respond to the critisism. In the rest of the world there are plenty of men and women with children entering there second marriage and plenty of men in the music business and acting are married to women they love that are nothing like the people they have in videos or love scenes in movies. Lets let go of ridicuous fantacies and grow up. please
hey usher i think you should haev waited a while befor marrage, you are a young talented s*** and smart,womenare haveing babies everyday so be careful and usher if it is so that your wife is why you fier mom alwasy remember this if you mother is not feeling your lady then somthing is worng and to me what she say should realy matter to you because i dont think that she is going to tell you anything worng,but GOD bless you and your new family love you always,bhamas
