The beloved human rights activist Danye Jones is the latest African-American leader to have been found dead following the untimely deaths of Sandra Bland, Marielle Franco & Darren Seals.

Three untimely deaths in St. Louis County over the past four years have inspired speculation that Ferguson protesters are being systematically murdered, although so far there is no evidence to suggest that the parallels are anything more than coincidental.

It is pretty disheartening and disappointing that you all have done nothing but pretty much ignore Marielle Franco’s death all year long and only bothered to mention her as a footnote to this article with her name spelled wrong and with a completely tactless adjective. There is nothing “suspicious” about Marielle’s death – the car she was riding was mercilessly shot in a drive-by. She and her driver and assistant were MURDERED for standing up for the poor and for clashing with the interests of Rio de Janeiro’s illegal drug-traffic-fueled militia. The only “suspicious” thing is the police work both here in Brazil and in the US that is trying to cover the real culprits of such crimes.
May Danye rest in power along with Marielle.

@LC- He committed s****** with his pants down around his ankles and his fists clenched? He had a bruise on the left side of his left eye. I’m sure there was a struggle or an attack from behind that caused him to be subdued and THEN “they” lynched him. You can probably view s****** photos online and I doubt many, if any, died with clenched fists. This is a tragedy and a clear targeted situation.

I saw this online yesterday and it grieved me deeply. I just can’t believe that this sort of thing is happening in this day and age BUT when I think of the day of the CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT I do see that it’s the same old sad song when it comes to progress and the sacrifice and “debt,” if you will, that some pay so that truth and forwardness can become our normalcy.
