Prince Harry and Meghan Markle told their story on their terms during a new interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The world woke up to explosive news on March 8, after the couple’s revealing interview where they did not hold anything back. Together, the couple dished on several facets of royal life and their life.
Join us below for the most shocking revelations from the interview…
There were “conversations” about Archie’s skin color.
Markle gave birth to her and Harry’s son in 2019 and much was made over the fact that did not get a royal title. It turns out his parents did not have any choice in the matter. Even more shocking is that Markle suggested that his skin color played a factor.
“In those months when I was pregnant, all around this same time—so we have in tandem the conversation of ‘He won’t be given security, he’s not going to be given a title,’ and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.“
Though the couple did not reveal with whom they had these discussions with, Harry did say:
“I think that would be very damaging to them.“

Prince William and Prince Charles are “trapped”
Harry revealed that had he not Meghan, he would not have left the royal family.
“I wouldn’t have been able to, because I myself was trapped, as well.“
Harry went on to say:
“I didn’t know I was trapped. But the moment that I met Meg and then our words sort of collided in the most amazing of ways.“
“My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don’t get to leave. And I have huge compassion for that.“

The Royals allegedly have an “invisible contract” with the media.
Harry was not shy when it came to exposing the relationship between the royals and the media, claiming that the pair have an “invisible contract.”
“There is what’s termed or referred to as the ‘invisible contract’ behind closed doors between the institution and the tabloids, the U.K. Tabloids.”
“To simplify it, it’s a case of if you as a family member are willing to wine, dine, and give full access to these reporters, then you will get better press.“
Harry further explained that the institution “survives based on that perception” that is presented and that “everyone needs to have some compassion for [the royals] in that situation, right? There is a level of control by fear that has existed for generations…I mean, generations.”

Meghan was scared for her life.
While pregnant, Meghan endured a constant onslaught of bullying and began experiencing dark thoughts.
“Look, I was really ashamed to say it at the time and ashamed to have to admit it to Harry, especially, because I know how much loss he’s suffered, but I knew if I didn’t say it, then I would do it.”
“I just didn’t want to be alive anymore. And that was a very clear and real and frightening and constant thought. I thought it would solve everything for everyone.“
She confessed her feelings to her husband and the most senior person on her team.
“I went to the institution, and I said that I needed to go somewhere to get help. I said that, ‘I’ve never felt this way before, and I need to go somewhere.’ And I was told that I couldn’t, that it wouldn’t be good for the institution.“
Instead, the next day she attended a charity event, where she had to put on a brave face.

There were issues with Kate Middleton.
After reports circulated that Meghan made her sister-in-law cry days before her wedding in 2018, Meghan actually revealed that “the reverse happened.”
“I don’t say that to be disparaging to anyone,, because it was a really hard…and she was upset about something and she owned it and she apologized and sent flowers and a note, apologizing. And she did what I would do if I knew that I hurt someone, right, to just take accountability for it.“
As for what the issue was, Meghan said it had to do with the flower girls’ dresses.

Suffice to say, this has the masses talking. What are…
“Invisible contract” with the media? Please. They wouldn’t be blaming the dislike for Megan on her “skin color” if that was the case. So stupid.
That was a good interview. My heart goes out to Harry and Meghan.
Why must we know any of this information? No shade..I’m genuinely curious…want us to congratulate them for leaving some place they didn’t want to be? Us regular folks do that on the daily 🤷🤔
When Prince Harry said that he felt like his mother “saw it coming” and provided a financial inheritance/escape… 😭❤️

I don’t understand the fascination with these people
Black people, am I right?
the monarchy is trash
They made the right choice to leave. The Royal Family are never going to change, its been in their culture to be like this. But for the sake of Harry and Meghan’s future they should not do anymore interviews like this otherwise they won’t get to set soil on UK again. A lot of Brits are overwhelmingly against them after this interview(tbf some of their paid taxes went towards their wedding so they have a reason to be..). Anyways all the best best to these two. Archie is gonna be super handsome when he grows up because “black don’t crack”!
Do they not understand genetics? Meghan’s Mother is African American. The average African American is 70% African, and 20-30% European. Your skin color has nothing to do with her genetics. Meghan is probably 35% African and the rest European. Condolezza took a DNA test and was 50% European. Archie is no more then probably 10% African at this point. I know my math is wrong… but c’mon
