Track queen Sha’Carri Richardson may be facing domestic violence charges, but her man, Christian Coleman, is sprinting to her defense.

The Olympic sprinter spoke out following Richardson’s arrest in Seattle-Tacoma Airport, where she was accused of repeatedly shoving Coleman during an argument. Police say there’s a video, and she was charged with fourth-degree domestic violence and held for over 18 hours. Still, Coleman isn’t throwing shade; he told reporters that:
“It was a sucky situation all around.”
He also expressed that:
“I don’t feel like she should have been arrested. People have emotions and stuff like that, and she has things she gotta work on for herself. So do I, so do you.”
“She’s the best female athlete in the world,” Coleman said, “She gon’ be just fine. She gon’ be good. I’m gon’ be good. It is what it is.”
Richardson didn’t qualify for the 200m final, but is this just a stumble before a comeback sprint?
