President Donald Trump is standing his ground despite an onslaught of backlash (even from members of his own party) after his official Truth Social account shared a video depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as monkeys late Thursday night (February 5).

As reported here, Trump was on the receiving end of staunch criticism from Civil rights leaders to longtime Republicans and Democrats for sharing the racially charged video – particularly during Black History month.
The deletion of the clip came early Friday morning (February 6) as a result of the backlash.
While speaking to reporters later that evening, the President admitted he didn’t see the entire video before it was posted and allegedly shared it due to its content about illegal voting practices.
“I guess during the end of it, there was some kind of picture people don’t like. I wouldn’t like it either, but I didn’t see it,” Trump said. “I just, I looked at the first part, and it was really about voter fraud.”
When quizzed on if he would be issuing an apology for the racist animation, the Commander-in-Chief quickly declined.
“No, I didn’t make a mistake,” he said.
At writing, the Obamas have not publicly responded to the hoopla.
