Many things elude Rihanna, namely album sales, vocals, and stage presence. Yet, if there’s one thing the star is familiar with it’s success.
Indeed, love or loathe her, the Bajan beauty has carved out quite the career despite her talent deficiencies.
In looking to make her mark beyond the (singles) charts, the 26-year-old is making a beeline for the big screen in new movie ‘Home’.
As reported, the DreamWorks production will see the diva release a themed soundtrack in support of the film -which she also stars in- later this year.
Ahead of the new music, DreamWorks have released a fresh synopsis and “prequel video” for the post-apocalyptic-alien-invasion-buddy-comedy.
Check both out below…
When Earth is taken over by the overly-confident Boov, an alien race in search of a new place to call home, all humans are promptly relocated, while the Boov get busy efficiently reorganizing the planet. But when one resourceful girl, Tip, (Rihanna) manages to avoid capture, she finds herself the accidental accomplice of a banished Boov by the name of Oh (Jim Parsons). Equally stubborn and set in their ways, these two fugitives realize there’s a lot more at stake than intergalactic relations as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime. Good thing they have a flying car.
Interestingly, Jennifer Lopez voices the role of Rihanna’s mother.
Jury’s out on whether this will be the box office home-run Ms. Fenty is hoping for or if it’ll experience a similar fate to her last big picture bomb ‘Battleship’. Time will tell.
