UK Gladiators have ample cause to celebrate this week. For, ‘Scandal’ has found a new home.
The popular political drama was at the center of many headlines early this week when More4, a Channel 4 spin-off station, confirmed that it would be dropping the ABC hit after airing it for two seasons.
Alas, an outcry of sorts ensued – with some cultural commentators making a number of insightful correlations; most notably between the lack of “color” on British screens and how the so-so promotion for the Kerry Washington fronted show in the UK almost guaranteed its axing.
Whatever the case, British fans of the series needn’t fret anymore. Because, an even bigger network has pouched the rights to air the show.
Details below…
Sky Living, which currently airs US imports such as Greys Anatomy and The Face, announced that it will be the new UK home for Olivia Pope and the ‘Scandal’ crew:

Already commanding millions of viewers for their top shows (vs. More4’s thousands), the network have made a commitment to prioritize the Shonda Rhimes show as one of their prime properties. As at writing, they’ve already made the first two seasons of the series available to watch OnDemand – ahead of the season 3 UK debut in the months ahead.
Reacting to the news, key cast mates couldn’t hide their jubilation:
