Cop a gander of Adrienne Bailon, who looks like a bag of money and good living a-front of Latina Magazine‘s September 2014 issue.
It’s not just her cover that’s catching attention, though. It’s her words — more specifically the one’s she offered on her ex boyfriend Rob Kardashian — that have many, including his sister Kim Kardashian, talking the most.
Interestingly, the singer/actress – who adds talk show host to her attributes when ‘The Real’ returns for a full season on September 15th – said that being associated with the “Kardashian” name dented her brand.
Quotes and Kim’s not so subtle response below…
Speaking to Latina, the former 3LW and Cheetah Girls star said of her two year relationship with Rob (which spanned 2007-2009):
To be stuck with that Kardashian label, that was so hurtful to me and to my career. I probably realized that too late — not that it would’ve affected my decisions in terms of who I dated, but it would’ve affected my decision to appear on the show (‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’).
(I didn’t think) anyone would even care. But they did, and do. To this day, people will still say, ‘You ruined Rob’s life!’ and I’ll think, ‘Damn, I was still playing with Barbie dolls when I met him.’
It’s common knowledge that he cheated on me. It always bothered me that people were like, ‘Pero, why couldn’t you forgive him?’. Why are women always the ones who have to forgive? If you cheated on a man, he would be like, ‘You’re disgusting, and I want nothing to do with you.’ But women, we’re supposed to be like, ‘He messed up. He made a mistake.’
In my situation, it wasn’t like, ‘Oh my God! I made a mistake!’ He strategically planned things out so that he could cheat on me, and that to me was so disloyal.”
Bailon’s baring didn’t seem to go down well with Rob’s publicity-hungry sister Kim, who took to Twitter to say:
Funny how she says being with a Kardashian hurt her career yet the only reason she has this article is bc she is talking about a Kardashian

Adding…
So sad when people try to kick my brother when he is down #FamilyForever

Putting aside our inability to take anything “Kardashian” related seriously, it’s understandable why Kim’s going to bat for her brother. Yet, that doesn’t invalidate what Adrienne is saying or the fact that she has many legitimate claims to success – with receipts to back them up. She also has a number of discernible talents – which is more than can be said for any Kardashian. As such, we say: onwards and upwards and good riddance to bad rubbish!
