Sherri Shepherd made a tearful return to ‘The View‘ this week, heading back to the show for its first live episode since announcing her departure, here.
Set to exit the show alongside co-host Jenny McCarthy, Shepherd addressed her parting with the show with a little help from moderator Whoopi Goldberg, and an audience surprised to learn that she had planned to leave before bidding adieu to Barbara Walters, who retired from the series earlier this year.
Peep her explanation below…
Sherri‘s exit comes as reports indicate her spot is to be filled by former cast member Rosie O’Donnell, who split with the series in 2007 following a long-running feud with Elizabeth Hasslebeck, captured during the debate now.
On her reported return, Elisabeth said of Rosie:
The very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network, and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there. Rosie herself told me on set while we were mic’ed up at the reunion that she produced the reunion show to have everybody together and it was her idea.Would you think that the woman who left the way that she did would be producing Barbara’s goodbye show? Here’s the shocker: It was actually her hello show.
She added:
Let’s not forget, Whoopi Goldberg is sitting there and Whoopi’s not going to let anybody control her.Whoopi has an EGOT, she has more trophies in her case than Rosie. She’s the leader on that show, I’m going to be very interested to see how that goes.I don’t think it would be wise for Rosie O’Donnell to challenge Whoopi Goldberg on anything,” she said when asked if she thought they’d bump heads. I really don’t.
