It’s been a long time coming, but change finally came today for the status of ‘Devious Maids’.
The spicy dramedy, which was created by ‘Desperate Housewives’ maestro Marc Cherry, had been in limbo since its season two climax in July; and with many of its stars taking on other roles, speculation has been rife about the show’s return – or potential lack-there-of.
However, fans of the Lifetime hit can rest easy. For the cable network have officially renewed the series for a third season.
Details below…
‘Devious Maids’ will strut back onto the box in 2015, after being picked up for another 13-episode run.
The press release announcing its comeback read:
“We are thrilled to be bringing Devious Maids back for another season. Marc Cherry has created a uniquely twisted world that blends his comic wit with devilishly ingenious characters and plot twists,” said Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Lifetime.
‘Devious’ is set in a world where murder and mayhem collide in the mansions of Beverly Hills’ wealthiest and most powerful families. Class warfare has never been as titillating as it is in the tiny enclave where the staff is as clever, witty and downright devilish as their employers.
The news of its return will come as a major coup for its stars Ana Ortiz, Judy Reyes, Roselyn Sanchez, Dania Ramirez, Edy Ganem, and the legendary Susan Lucci. It also serves as a big boost for Eva Longoria, who is an executive producer on the show.
Congrats to all involved!
