Kenya Moore may have struggled to build a likeable brand outside of the Bravo series, but should she need tips on how to do so we’d say she needn’t look any further than her ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta‘ sister NeNe Leakes.
For, after rising to become one of Bravo’s more lucrative characters, securing a recurring role on the hit series ‘Glee‘, working on her magic on the short lived ‘The New Normal’, rocking ‘The Celebrity Apprentice’ and waltzing her way to higher celebrity ground on ‘Dancing with the Stars‘, Leakes is now being considered for the “lead role” on E!’s ‘Fashion Police.’
Details below…
According to reports that have surfaced this week, the passing of the show’s star Joan Rivers saw execs over at E!’s mother network NBC set their sights on comedienne Kathy Griffin, whom Rivers had been a longtime supporter of.
Unfortunately for Kathy, the reported success of Leakes’ HSN clothing line and her ratings-grabbing run on ‘Housewives’ have given producers cause to pause and consider the Reality TV royal for the role, potentially cutting her out of the casting picture.
Add to this the E!’s reported plans to offer their viewers more diversity, NeNe now stands as a serious contender for the position, which would see her replace Joan and join Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and George Kotsiopoulos on the fashion forward panel.
Why NBC Universal may be eager to jump into bed with NeNe? Well, they already are, reportedly crediting her for the continued success of ‘Housewives’, which they own through E!’s sister company…’Bravo.‘
