After leading the group to superstardom status and going on to launch the solo careers of its three remaining members, Mathew Knowles now plans to release a tell-all movie based on the lives of ‘Destiny’s Child.’

In a move set to dwarf the TV-based success of the recent TLC and Aaliyah biopics, Knowles is currently shopping the movie to major film studios hoping to find a home for the project.
Unfortunately, his plans have been brought to life far sooner than he would have liked. For, they’ve been exposed via leaked emails pulled from the email accounts of the Sony execs he had hoped would green-light the release.

On November 24th, ‘Sony Pictures Entertainment‘ discovered that their company computers had been infected with the ‘Shamoon’ malware, a computer virus used for cyber espionage, capable of using one infected computer to infect any others on the same network, pulling files from said network and sending them straight to the attacker.
After watching a number of yet-to-released movies pulled from them and leaked online, the company soon discovered that private emails sent between their executives had made their way to the net to. One of these, being an exchange between Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper and Amy Pascal, Chairman of the Motion Pictures Group at Sony.
On December 4th 2013, Culpepper told Pascal:
Matthew Knowles, Beyonce’s Father wants to make the film of Destiny’s Child and came to me first.
Interesting, as this email was sent one week before the release of Beyonce‘s self-titled surprise album…released by Sony Music Entertainment. ‘The Daily Beast’ reports that Pascal and the other execs who received the email were enthusiastic about the project, no doubt hoping to secure the release for themselves before Knowles made his way to their rivals at ‘Universal.’

I always said a Destiny’s Child biopic would be great but not with Beyonce’s participation of course because we all saw that documentary of hers where she was clearly not being genuine. We need the real tea, you know the behind the scenes friction with the group and Beys father not treating them right, Beys dry shades and attitude, Matthew paying songwriters and producers to keep quiet on lying that his daughter made all those songs that she ‘claimed’ that her creatively minimalistic mindset came up with, you know.

I don’t feel like there would be much to expose. Beyonce was very young through most of it and he was the one pulling the strings.

^THIS^ When Bey and later on, Kelly, relieved Matthew of his managerial duties on grounds of shady business dealings and I remember thinking, “OMG, LaToya and Latavia were right!” Sad it took over a decade for people to see that Matthew isn’t s**t. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge Bey fan and support Kelly and Michelle where I can but the original line-up gave us their best album to date, The Writings on the Wall. Matthew may have gone above and beyond to give his daughter a launching pad for a great career, but the fact that he did it at the expense of others saddens me.

On one hand, all the members of Destiny’s Child are still relatively young (all are below the age of 40) so this is all a bit too soon. However, DC with only eight years under their belt, have enough drama in their backstory to make for an interesting movie. From the firing of two original members then replacing them only to then let go of one of the replacements which narrowed the group down to three. Plus, we can’t forget Matty’s shady ways and how Bey and Kelly ended up firing him for stealing money from them. But if this will be told from his perspective so expect it to be a fluff piece that gasses him up.
There is a movie, but it’s not coming in theaters. It’s coming on Lifetime in February 2015.
