That ‘Empire’ reign just won’t let up!
The Lee Daniels music drama has been building on its blockbuster ratings with weekly climbs – a trajectory which continued with its most recent episode.
Per TV By The Numbers, episode seven of the hit FOX show delivered a 5.2 rating in the crucial 18-49 demographic and was watched by a whopping 13.02 million viewers.
Already renewed for a second season, the upward trend in viewership comes as quite the coup for leads Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, as well as all involved.

Yasssssss I LOVE Empire, so glad I started watching it, Taraji serves me LIFE on the show, renew it for another 10 season I say
I love this show! Black ink crew is also another show that’s out this world.
Empire needs Iggy on there to really make it even better. The ratings would really be sitting even higher then.
Kii
pleasssseeee
The last thing they need is Iggy
They already got rock legend Courtney Love as the token white person & the original queen of rap music Lil Kim is set to make an appearance. With legends like that who needs new school microwaveable popcorn divas like Iggy coming on & f****** up the flow??
Wow. Congratulations. I can’t wait to see all of the celebs they are going to have on Empire during the second season. I definitely can’t wait to see MC.

MC is everything & I heard she’s already back in the studio recording a new record so lord knows she needs the promo
Very good show. And every episode gets better.
Great show. They also mentioned my fave on the last episode.
did they? at what point
@DEL BEY After Cookie asked Luscious where Anika was going, Luscious said she was goong out of town to work with Lana Del Rey
Yasssssss I got my life when Terrance said his girl was meeting Lana. I wonder what song she’s sing if they ever had her on the show.
“unknown outside of Tumblr” according to blog/forum gays but mentioned on the highest rated drama on American network TV. Haha.
Ppl said this show was a dad with big 1st week numbers but was going to flop over all. But no other show has done this, gain an audience after each episode consecutively (at least no reason tv show) let alone a full black cast. And to think they stopped making shows for black ppl. But we are the ones tuning in to watch as long as it is good tv. (60% of empire viewers are black I read in an article a few weeks ago)
I’d be asking for a pay increase if I was taraji
so glad this show is doing great, I’m addicted to it! Cookie is THAT B**** <3 poor Elle Dallas tho. I hate Anika so much after last episode
This show is everything, a close second to Haves and Have Nots in my book.
Nah. Tyler is too “nichey”. He needs to take a risk more. But temptations, abeit his niche, was everything.
IM glad finally a show with mainly black actors/cast is making it with truth and not just foolery (TYLER PERRY SHOWS)
This is must see tv every week in my household glad to see the general public is receiving this show so well.
With only 5 episodes left :(:(
Hopefully this season’s only been a trial run & the renewed season will be a full year-long season starting next fall & running into the Spring of 2016
The show’s too good to be restrained to 12 episode, >3 month time span!!
I’m also so happy they put rock legend Courtney Love back on, & allegedly Lil Kim might follow suit. As musical legends struggling to make comebacks, what better way to relaunch a career than to feature on TV’s biggest new hit? Hopefully Empire will continue to offer itself as a jumpoff for reintroducing legendary talent back into the mainstream in the years to come!!
The main draw of Empire for me is the acting, not the music (Cookie’s the best), but Courtney Love provides me with nostalgia. It warms my heart whenever she makes her cameos & provides nice juxtaposition from Hakeem’s empty, stale popcorn raps
