Academy Award winner Mo’Nique is blazing the media trail this week in support of her new movie ‘Blackbird,’ which landed in theaters today.
‘The Wendy Williams Show’ was her most recent stop, and oh did it make for an interesting watch.
True to form, Williams didn’t hold back with the actress/former TV host. Indeed, she quizzed about the much reported “blackballed” incident with Lee Daniels and Mo’s initial involvement with ‘Empire.’
Ever able to hold her own, the mother of four made a marked point to explain her side of everything, at times even gesturing Williams to grant her the scope to “tell it.”
Peep the interview below…
Great interview!
We have ample admiration for both ladies, but it was awesome to see Mo’Nique insist on saying what she had to say. Time may have been limited, but ol’ girl was adamant to be heard – and heard she was.
Love this interview! I believe in everything Mo’Nique said! Still one of the best black actresses in the States
yup I do believe Monique after watching several interviews with Lee Daniels I now realize he is a sell out, he sat there and said ‘I don’t pull the race card if I pull it then I allow it to be real’… Wtf
how is that a sellout statement tho???
The expression on Wendy’s face in the picture above sums it up… she met her match, Mo wasn’t holding back neither lol
i don’t usually comment on this sites too much anymore but what i will say is she took over even when Wendy was trying to cut her off lol. i hate when host invite people to a show and don’t let them speak it’s just rude
I love and have so much respect for Mo!!! She’s come such a long way and I’m definetly gonna support her movie this weekend
Wendy was MADE to listen and Mo’nique did it so subtle but classy and made sure a bish understood.
Other than that one look Wendy wasn’t too mad.
Mo’nique is exhausting and ridiculous! Being an actress is being in the business of selling movie tickets. You can’t have one and not the other. Her husband/manager is an idiot and thinks they’re keeping it “real” with her I won’t play the game schtick. That is why your career has disintegrated! True masters know when to play the game, how to learn the game, and eventually start making new rules for the game. Sashay away!
Nice interview
