All you need to know below…
‘The Get Down’ is set in 1970s New York and will join ‘Orange is the new Black’ to become part of the Netflix family, telling the story of impoverished teens dealing with the world with the little they have and building a culture that would go on to influence the world in the decades that followed.
How Jaden ties into it? He plays Marcus “Dizzee” King, a creative graffiti artist from South Bronx.
Baz Lurhmann will serve as director.
He shared:
We as an audience have known Jaden since he was very young. Recently, Jaden has been seeking diverse and challenging roles and this is a testament to his passion to grow in the craft. In the short time he has joined our acting family, he has begun developing his The Get Down skill set, even taking lessons from the legendary graffiti artist Lady Pink of Wild Style fame, as well as steeping himself in the history and culture of the Bronx. We’re all very happy with the casting of Jaden in the role of ‘Dizzee’ Kipling, and with his addition, the Kipling family cast is now complete.
‘Down’ touches down on all territories in 2016.
Wow! Sounds like an amazing production (Baz Lurman etc)…Pitty he can’t act…
Why does Will Smith insist on pushing his son onto us? FETCH IS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN, STOP TRYING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Cant nock the hustle
