Earlier this year the music mogul Jay-Z came under fire from critics who claimed he didn’t do enough to speak out against social issues faced by his supporters.
Now, in response to these claims the rapper has teamed up with Will Smith to draw fresh attention to the racially-charged murder of the African-American boy Emmet Till.

The yet-to-be titled miniseries will air on HBO and present a detailed look into Till’s life and impact on the world before and after he was murdered for allegedly flirting with a Caucasian woman in 1955…nine years before the Civil Rights Act of 1964 passed the senate.
Smith, Jay and Rihanna‘s Roc Nation manager Jay Brown will serve as executive-producers and are currently searching for a writer to tell the story.
