It’s official!
Bravo are adding not one but two new cities to its wildly successful ‘Real Housewives’ franchise.
Confirmed today is the arrival of ‘The Real Housewives of Dallas’ and ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac.’ The unveiling of the latter is especially interesting as it’s the first all Afro-American cast since the debut of the Atlanta edition.
More on the show, including the first look trailer below…
Via Bravo:
Pack your bags and prepare to head to Potomac, Maryland for the latest addition to the Housewives family, The Real Housewives of Potomac. Located just up the river from our nation’s capital of Washington, D.C., Potomac is a cozy, upscale enclave with gated mansions, rolling hills, and exclusive country clubs. Viewers will be introduced to the wealthy African-American families who have broken racial barriers and now reside in the sophisticated community. The Real Housewives of Potomac will follow socialite and single mom Gizelle Bryant, international model and TV personality Katie Rost, grand dame Karen Huger, social butterfly Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, publicist and single mom Robyn Dixon, as well as restaurateur Ashley Darby.
‘The Real Housewives of Potomac’ premieres Sunday, January 17 at 9/8c. Watch the titillating trailer here…
Video didn’t load. But by the cast photo they look kind of boring.
This won’t last. First of all “Potomoc” is not immediately recognizable like the other cities. Second, I worked with the Real Housewives of DC and that flopped hard. This area just doesn’t lend itself to that kind of narrative. They need to stop adding cities and retiring some of the ones they have. This set up is tired now!
Uh oh! Competition rears its ugly head finally. Let’s see how the Atlanta version will do one this new version gets off the ground and lands on its feet.
The beauty of black people is that we are very diverse so I’m sure they will be very different. There’s room for more than one
I agree! But the issue is whether the viewers (especially white ones) will be able to notice a difference or just categorize them all in the same boat because they dont care.
On paper, some of them individually sound more accomplished than all the Atlanta cast members past and present combined, especially more sophisticated.
What the hell is Afro American ? Pls change this offensive title
How is it offensive? It needed to be said. I could barely tell these b!tches were black if I didn’t read the headline
Zzzzzzz
oop, hey now
