Lupita Nyong’o‘s career shows no signs of the post-Oscar slump.
Indeed, via a savvy selection of roles and a growing list of endorsement deals, the Academy Award winner – who won Best Supporting Actress for her role in ’12 Years A Slave’ – has broken the shackles so many of her predecessors weren’t able to.
And if a new report proves true, her rapidly rising star will only soar higher – thanks to Marvel‘s hotly anticipated ‘Black Panther’ movie.
Details below…
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Kenyan thespian is in negotiations to star opposite lead actor Chadwick Boseman in the flick – which arrives in 2018.
Boseman’s take on the Black Panther was briefly introduced in the latest ‘Captain America: Civil War’ film. Wildly successful, the title has earned $700 million (and counting) at the global box office.
Naturally, expectations are high. Hence, the tentative enlisting of Lupita serves as a smart play by director Ryan Coogler (whose credits include ‘Creed’ and ‘Fruitvale Station’). Especially following the rub the starlet received by way of her recent turns big budget efforts ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ and ‘The Jungle Book.’
Details on Nyong’o’s character have not yet been divulged, but it is believed she will appear as Panther’s love interest.
More power to her.
