Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monae and Octavia Spencer star in the groundbreaking movie ‘Hidden Figures’ this year, joining forces to tell the true story of the African-American women who stood for and behind NASA during its formative years.
Their names?
Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson.
Alas, little effort has been made by scientific historians to ensure that the part they played in the development of space travel isn’t forgotten.
Only right then, with this in mind, that Spencer, Henson and Monae right this wrong.

Fans of Janelle will know that the movie’s them pulls her into familiar creative territory.
For, all three of her studio albums see her delve into the world of science-fiction via the character Cindi Mayweather.
Catch ‘Figures’ when it rocks theatres on January 13th 2017.
Janelle is so talented damn it. Great move for her. Her last album was in my top3 from that year (2013 if I remember correctly).
Taraji P. Henson will forever be cookie lyons, Janelle Monae i still can’t get into — its like shes a cute woman in man’s clothing a little lesbo who wears lip-stick but still strong. seems like a really cute movie. very uplifting
Actually no. I thought Taraji was a one trick pony until I saw this trailer. I think she’ll do very well in it.
WOW! You thought Taraji was a one-trick pony? You’ve definitely haven’t watched her work. Maybe, you only watch her on Empire. Check out her movies and TV shows. Taraji is the business.
One trick pony? She was nominated for an Oscar for her work in Benjamin Button and before she asked to be killed off of Person of Interest she was in line for an Emmy for her performance on the show.
Um..Janelle Monsey can act? I had no idea! She seems to be stealing scenes left and right in thus movie! And it’s good to see Taraji play a more toned down and sophisticated role that doesn’t mirror Cookie. Octavia is an Academy Award winning actress- enough said. I will definitely be checking this out next year!
You’re right about Janelle, lol! She looks like one to watch in acting!
It’s funny, Taraji, has mostly played understated, or down to earth characters.
Cookie is out of the box, in the lineage of her work.
I’m glad she is back on the big screen. She is so much more than Cookie.
I guess some people have only seen her in Empire!! She was nominated for an Academy Award fot The Curious Case of Benjamin Button!!
Exactly. Brad was great, but Taraji made that movie work. There’s a reason she was nominated for that film. She was outstanding! ?
I saw this trailer yesterday. I will be supporting this movie!
The acting and storyline seem superb.
This is what I’m talking about! Films that show true stories of, African Americans that have brains and depth!!
Looking forward to this!!
I love all three women, and its a good look for African American women. Beautiful queens…
Cant wait for this!
