Odell Beckham Addresses Lena Dunham’s ‘MET Gala’ Drama Remarks

Published: Thursday 8th Sep 2016 by David

‘Girls‘ creative Lena Dunham found herself on the receiving end of social media’s sting recently when she seemed to scold the athlete Odell Beckham Jr for not paying attention to her at this year’s ‘MET Gala.’

Where she did it? During a “conversation” with her pal Amy Schumer launched to promote the latter’s book ‘The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo.’

I was sitting next to Odell Beckham Jr., and it was so amazing because it was like he looked at me and he determined I was not the shape of a woman by his standards. He was like, “That’s a marshmallow. That’s a child. That’s a dog.” It wasn’t mean — he just seemed confused.

The vibe was very much like, “Do I want to **** it? Is it wearing a … yep, it’s wearing a tuxedo. I’m going to go back to my cell phone.” It was like we were forced to be together, and he literally was scrolling Instagram rather than have to look at a woman in a bow tie. I was like, “This should be called the Metropolitan Museum of Getting Rejected by Athletes.

Her confusing comments saw her mocked and slammed on Twitter and, after enough social media users caught wind of them, saw her becoming the #1 trending topic on the aforementioned platform.

This week, Beckham has addressed the matter.

The athlete’s reps opted not to respond to Dunham once her remarks were published.

Undeterred, a ‘Complex’ reporter made it his mission to score a response when he bumped into Beckham at GQ party hours ago. He succeeded.

I don’t have enough information to really speak on it. We’ll see what happens from there. I never want any problems with anybody in this world.

Some time later, the sports reporter Jordan Raanan caught up with the amiable star.
