Jennifer Hudson is working her way toward being one of the hardest working women in Hollywood.
The Oscar and Grammy-winning diva, whose schedule will see her soon starring on Netflix’s Adam Sandler-directed project ‘Sandy Wexler,’ judging ‘The Voice’ UK, showing off her vocal chops on NBC’s ‘Hairspray Live’ alongside Ariana Grande, and working on her highly anticipated fourth album is also adding a new film to that – ‘Monster.’
Details inside:
“Roots actor Kelvin Harrison Jr. will lead an ensemble that includes Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson, as well as recording artists A$AP Rocky and Nas.
Monster follows Steve (Harrison), a 17-year-old honors student and aspiring filmmaker in Harlem, who is being charged with felony murder for a crime he says he didn’t commit.
Monster will be the feature directorial debut for Anthony Mandler, who has been a longtime collaborator of Rihanna’s and has helmed music videos for the likes of Taylor Swift, Lana del Rey and Drake.
Bron Studios is joining forces with Tonik Productions and John Legend’s Get Lifted Film Co. for the feature, which is being repped by WME Global.”
Nas and Legend will also executive produce the project which, as of time reporting, has no set release date.
