As far as fans of ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ knew Phaedra Parks and her husband Apollo Nida were still legally married.
Alas, today has brought surprising news that Apollo has engaged another woman from behind bars.
Another woman, much to Phaedra‘s horror, has joined the television series.
The pair’s marriage played out on camera over four seasons and faced turmoil when Nida was jailed for crimes detailed here.
Since then, viewers had been led to believe that the pair, though feuding, may reconcile after Parks claimed Nida refused to divorce her because he wanted to remain married.
So, one may understand why news of his engagement to another woman may confuse them today.
Sources close to production tell us Apollo started dating the woman 2 years ago … before he started his prison sentence, and they got engaged a couple months ago.

For, his bride-to-be, who hails from New Jersey, is to appear in the current season of ‘Housewives’ alongside Nida who will communicate with her on-camera from prison.
Why now?
Phaedra and Apollo were still married when ‘Real’s cameras started rolling during the summer.
However, this month saw Parks reveal that their divorce was finalised , perhaps prompting Nida’s shocking announcement.
