It appears the mixture of Mariah Carey, Chaka Khan, Vanessa Williams, and Patti Labelle proved potent for VH1 as newly surfaced reports indicate the holiday rendition of their once-shelved ‘Divas’ series scored major ratings.
Also featuring the likes of Teyana Taylor, JoJo, and more, the showing – which was taped at New Yorks’ King’s Theater and aired December 5th – gave the network its highest ratings for the franchise in over a decade.

VH1 dominated small screens on Monday night (Dec. 5) with the network’sVH1 Divas Holiday: Unsilent Night special. Festive performances from Mariah Carey, Vanessa Williams, Patti LaBelleand Chaka Khan, among others, scored two million viewers for the hour-long telecast.
The special’s executive producer, VH1 and Logo’s executive vice president and deputy general manager Amy Doyle, recently told Billboard that there are plans to bring the VH1 Divas show next year. Said Doyle: “We set out to start a new holiday tradition, and based on the early feedback, it seems like we’ve accomplished that!”
