Madame C.J. Walker‘s life is to be brought to life once again thanks to an unexpected collaboration between the Oscar winner Octavia Spencer and Lebron James.
Netflix are said to be eager to pick up the show which will see James and Spencer stand as producers and the latter play Walker herself with the full backing of Lebron’s Spring Hill Entertainment.

I am really proud of this project and that SpringHill will be partnering with Octavia to tell this important story. Every American should all know the story of Madam C.J. Walker. She was an innovator, entrepreneur, social activist, and total game changer whose story has been left out of the history books. I hope this project lives up to her legacy with a story that will educate and inspire.

I am very pleased to see this story being told before the likes of a mainstream audience, but it should be released as a film or miniseries and NOT a television show. The format selected is all wrong. I hope Octavia and the other creatives at Netflix will revisit the format before production actually begins. But yes…very important narrative being shared with the masses.
