After several false-starts and confusion surrounding its release, Halle Berry‘s ‘Kidnap‘ has rocked the box office!
Awesome news below…
The movie was scheduled to be released in October 2015 but was pushed back because its parent company Relativity learned that it was facing severe financial woes.
After receiving and then losing several due dates the project was pulled from the company’s release schedule giving Berry fans reason to believe it would never see the light of day.
Unwilling to let that happen, Berry backed plans by the movie’s creators to have the project picked up by a new distributor.
Said plans came to fruition and the project hit theatres on August 4th 2017.
This week, Berry learned that the project has earned over $30 million! 32.2 million to be exact.
$30 million of this was generated in the U.S. alone.
I felt just like every mom who sees this movie will feel: Your heart’s going to be pounding, you’re going to be scared to death, you’re going to think, ‘Oh my God, if this really happened to me what would I do?
Why do you think the movie fared so well?
I wouldn’t exactly call $30 mil WELL and why on earth are you all reporting on this tally a month and a half AFTER the fact! This would only be news if the movie OPENED with $30 mil!
Exactly. Slow news day! And pin the janet story to the top lol
Lol…so a movie that was supposed to be released almost three years ago…pushed back 3/4 times…got cancelled altogether…got leaked in that time…but was still able to make profit hasn’t done well?
How did it make a profit against a $21 million budget??
@Max simple math says 30-21 = 11

A movie has to double its production budget in order for the movie studio to profit. This is FACTUAL and HISTORICAL information.
THis movie was Hella good tho! She went HAM no those kidnappers! LOL! Get it Halle
For this project $30 MILLION is definitely Amazing considering this film leaked an ENTIRE YEAR AGO! They definitely made back the budget and more which I’m surprised by since I watched it on Firestick. lol
It’s relatable. Makes you think of what you would do if that ever happened.
I would not have let that happen. No phone call is that important for me to leave my children unattended in a public park because this world has too many pedos and freaks lurking around. All she had to do was stay put and either take the call or send it to voice mail.
I need to see this. Didn’t know it was out.
Girl! Wake up honey! Step into the light Carol Ann!!! That rock you’ve been under has taken a toll I see. LOL!
It made an 11 million dollar profit. So it was a success. Great for her!
I loved the movie
Movies was terrible.
