Hollywood has been forced to exorcise it predatory demons and now, thanks to a new documentary born out of the #MeToo movement, the music industry will be forced to do the same.

It’s an industry in which there are huge imbalances of power, there are people at the top who really hold people’s hopes and dreams in their hands, and at the bottom of the totem pole are people trying to break into an industry that’s fun, competitive and exciting. “When you get that power dynamic you create an environment where abuse can happen and perpetrators can get away with it. There’s a real culture of silence that exists, people are terrified to talk about this because there is a real feeling that if you speak out, you’ll lose your job and you might never work in the industry again.
The investigation into sexual abuse within the industry is led by the British Broadcasting Channel via the documentary ‘Rape & Abuse: The Music Industry’s Dark Side’ which will see women bare all on their horrific experiences.
It’s endemic, I don’t have a single peer in the music industry who hasn’t been sexually harassed or assaulted. I have no doubt that there are people working in the music industry who should be in prison and who think they are safe and untouchable.

I don’t like that the movie industry wish to capitilize off of a struggle that was birthed out of their misconduct. I’ll only be here for it if they donate proceeds to some sort of sexual harassment movement or NPO

What about all those other parents that have teenage daughters that are dating men in their 20s and cannot do anything about it. You are assuming it was for money when any true parent knows that teenagers are going to do what they are going to do no matter how much you ground them or discipline them. Young love is hard for any parent to squash.

I agree. I agree. Back in the day R. Kelly was fine. He was tall, handsome, rich, and an extremely talented musician / producer. If I was a 15 to 18 year old aspiring singer and got work with a 20 something year old man like him that would make me a star why not? I would not let him pee on me though. He is not a p*** at all like the haters wish he was because pedos go after little children. He is simply a man that likes younger women. If he was not a celebrity then he would not even get bad press for it because there are millions of young women that date older men. That is why the legal definition of an adult vary from state to state between 15 to 17.
