Aptly titled ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ the hour-long morning talker has been picked up by NBC two months after its pilot was taped.

Currently set for a Fall 2019 debut, the series will  replace Steve Harvey’s ‘Steve’ and air as a lead-in to ‘Ellen’ on NBC group stations in key markets including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, Miami, San Diego, Hartford and Washington.

Speaking on the venture, Clarkson said:

“I love connecting with people, playing games, music and finding ways to help or give back to communities/organization. Having my own talk show where I get to do all of these things is pretty much a dream job!”

Per THR, the series is billed as a “weekday brunch party” with guests who typically would never meet. Each episode will feature celebrities, surprises, humor, heart, music and touching stories.

In a masterstroke move, Clarkson will serve as exec producer of the LA-based show together with her husband Brandon Blackstock.

Paul Telegdy, co-president of NBC Entertainment said of teaming with Clarkson:

“The incomparable Kelly Clarkson takes everything she touches to another level and we couldn’t be happier to bring her talent, humor, generosity and compassion to daytime next year. With Kelly’s cross-generational appeal and extraordinary ability to understand and connect with viewers, The Kelly Clarkson Show will have something for everyone.”

As the music industry continues to shape-shift, even its brightest stars – such as Kelly – are tasked with broadening their reach into fresh arenas. It’s the main means of longevity. A memo the songbird clearly got and is flying with.

Because the talkshow soon after she sinked an all-encompassing talent deal with NBC.

The “talk” space is notoriously tough. Indeed, for every ‘Wendy’ and ‘The Real,’ there’s a ‘Bethenny’ and a litany of others that didn’t make it.

We’re optimistic about Kelly’s chances, though.

More power to her!
