The entertainer has found himself in a spot of legal bother after the company PR Consulting Inc sued him for failing to influence a millennial-centred campaign born out of his romantic ties to Kourtney Kardashian.
They claim he committed to promoting the Snapchat-powered spectacles ‘Snap Spectacles’ but let them down when he failed to complete the tasks set to support the product.
The PR company filed the lawsuit in New York Supreme Court, alleging that Sabbat breached his agreement to post three Instagram stories and one post to his Instagram feed in which he would be wearing the spectacles. Sabbat made only one Instagram story and one post to his feed, and did not submit the post to PR Consulting for pre-approval, the suit alleges.
They’re enraged because he was to be paid $60,000 for what they believe was a simple promotional mission and now want to be reimbursed!
He reportedly reneged the agreement to be photographed wearing the specs in public during Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks. The suit seeks reimbursement of $45,000, plus an additional $45,000 in damages. The contract stated that Sabbat was to be paid the $60,000 in total, with $45,000 to be paid upfront.
What do the spectacles look like? He could countersue for bait and switch if they are different than the product he was shown before signing a contract. If they are the same product then he should refund their money since he won’t promote them.
