After visiting Nigeria last month, Retro Rewind’s exploration of world cinema sees us land in Japan…home to the movie ‘Battle Royale.’
Used, as far as some fan see it, to shape the direction of the ‘Hunger Games‘ movies, ‘Battle’ is about a group of unruly high school teens who embark on what they believe will be a fun school trip.
Little did they know that said “trip” would see them forced to fight for their lives on an island ran by a sadistic monster.
Sounds wild doesn’t it?
Enjoy the Kinji Fukashaku movie, if you’re 18 or older, below…
$25.9 million earned globally made the movie a commercial success and performances from the likes of Tatsuya Fujiwara, Aki Maeda and Tetsuya Shimura saw it soar just as high among fans and critics.
