The thriller was initially expected to open with $35 million but, in the week of its release, is now set to reach the $50 million mark in North America. Thanks largely to the wave of positive reviews it received from journalists it wowed during pre-release previews.
With this, it is to outperform and outpace numbers garnered by nearest competitior ‘A Quiet Place’ and Peele’s modern classic ‘Get Out.’
As for Metacritic? Just as good. For, a score of 81 out of 100 – re-affirming its universal acclaim!

It was an okay movie. The movie is saturated in subliminal messages so it makes it beyond hard to understand. GET OUT was better

I agree get out is really better. This one has no real surprises. So predictible, Nyong’o was good though.

the only strong suit is Lupita’s incredible performance!! she deserves another Oscar nomination— despite the genre & timing of this release.

Heard it’s not good
It’s a good film with an excellent premise that really makes you think. People who say it’s horrible are dumb; think outside the box people! Everything made sense to the abstract thinker. The movie was a tad slow but that’s the only drawback. I actually enjoyed it on the second viewing. 8/10
Yeah it’s so original and you are not trying to think if you don’t like it. It’s ground breaking I’m still thinking about the films hidden messages
Yea just like get out – u have to think outside the box. Well that’s not always an easy thing for people to do. Definitely think this movie is overhyped. Let’s be honest a lot of people are supporting it and giving it great reviews because it’s an all black cast. Jordan Peele did it first so he can continue to use the black community to drive his business. If anyone else does it, it’s going to be a problem.
The movie is enjoyable. Her performance is amazing. Both movies are different so not really comparable, but as an experience, I prefered Get Out.
I guessed the final twist throughout the movie but I still enjoyed it.
And yes, there’s a lot of hidden messages/metaphors.

This movie was so stupid, none of the movie was scary. So many moments had you thinking what the hell… and the reactions of the family when they are being hunted down was so dumb.
Went to see it earlier today & the movie was really good! Not as good as Get Out but still an amazing movie & performance by Lupita! She played the hell outta her role! Definitely Oscar worthy!
