Black Hollywood showed up and out for TV’s biggest night – the 71st annual Primetime Emmy Awards (which aired live tonight from Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater).
Host-less this year, the FOX-showing celebrates the excellent efforts of some of TV’s best and brightest, in front of and behind the lens. Before the telecast began handing out its coveted trophies, some of the night’s most talked about moments had already happened on the red carpet.

I have always hated the way Kerry Washington does a red carpet look. She always seems to miss the mark.
Laverne C** looks better than usual, but the top of the dress doesn’t need to be as busy as the bottom.
Everyone else just kinds of blends.

Him & Karamo really could use moments like these to represent masculinity for gay, black men. Instead, they both ALWAYS effeminate themselves for camera, headlines & white LGBT acceptance. it’s very disappointing.

I hope the Hollywood vultures don’t turn him into a red carpet sissy. He & Jussie Smollett are the only two prime examples of gay, black BALANCE that we have left.
sometimes, I feel like Taraji tries to skimp on her budget by making personal wardrobe choices that a paid stylist would immediately VETO.
Taraji looks terrible in those colors, that wig & the overall ill fit of the gown.

Zendaya = GORGEOUS. She never disappoints. Dyllón Burnside is VERY handsome.
Zendaya, Angela, Viola look good. Taraji looks terrible from head to toe. Kerry Washington looks a mess as well. Honestly there are not too many standout looks at this year’s Emmys.
Laverne’s dress would make more sense at the Met Gala. Janet Mock’s hair doesn’t match the dress. Ava DuVernay looks like a fairy godmother.
I think for the most part hair/accessories didn’t complement the main outfit.
