Amazon Prime are to release the comedy on the 17th of January as part of its bid to compete with Netflix as their streaming content war intensifies.
The movie was shot as Davis prepared for the ending of her hit show ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ and will arrive before the release of the picture she built with Lupita Nyong’o.
What it’s all about?
It follows a misfit girl in 1977 rural Georgia who dreams of making contact with outer space. When a national competition offers her a chance at her dream, to be recorded on NASA’s Golden Record, she recruits a makeshift troop of Birdie Scouts, forging friendships that last a lifetime and beyond.
