The trailblazing narrative of Madam CJ Walker will be illuminated anew by way of a Netflix limited series – led by Oscar winner Octavia Spencer.
Set to premiere March 20th, the powerful production – which is titled ‘Self Made: Inspired by the Life Of Madam CJ Walker’ – will share the true story of the African American entrepreneur, who built a haircare empire. One which saw her become the first ever female self-made millionaire.

It’s a series but you’re right that would have been a great idea. The rollout would of made for an impactful debut. Maybe that was the original goal. But the story is strong enough to come out anytime people will definitely watch.
