Jennifer Lopez was on-hand at Oprah Winfrey‘s much-talked about 2020 Vision tour stop in Los Angeles last night.
Speaking candidly about the peaks and troughs of her personal and professional life, the star opened up about being omitted from the Oscar nominations.
J.Lo was hotly tipped for the shortlist after wowing with her role in ‘Hustlers’ – one which nabbed her a nomination at the Golden Globes and multiple wins at other ceremonies.
And yet, nothing.

“I was sad, I was a little sad because there was a lot of buildup to it. There were so many articles, I got so many good notices — more than ever in my career — and there was a lot of ‘She’s going to get nominated for an Oscar, it’s going to happen, if it doesn’t you’re crazy.’ I’m reading all the articles going, ‘Oh my god, could this happen?’ And then it didn’t and I was like ‘Ouch,’ it was a little bit of a letdown. Also I felt like my whole team — most of my team has been with me for years, 20, 25 years — and I think they had a lot of hopes on that and they wanted it too, so I felt like I let everyone down a little bit.”
Ultimately, the mass feedback has been resoundingly positive – like she said, some of the best of her acting career. So, there’s the win right there.

I’m not sure why there was any shock. I saw Hustlers. I thought the movie was GOOD maybe even VERY GOOD. It wasn’t great or historic in anyway. I also thought her performance which was good was no different from her being the Bronx girl she is. The idea that it was a possible Oscar-winning performance had to be all PR-driven and was no shock to anyone but her team that she didn’t get the nomination.
Congratulations to Jennifer and the success of the movie, I think it was worthy of that, but that’s it. Oscar? Not at all.
I’m shocked Billboard made her the first female artist to win the ICON Award (after Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder and Prince!) despite the fact she never won any Billboard Awards before that. Not a single Billboard award. Before Madonna, Janet, Mariah, Whitney, Barbara, Cher, Tina.

I think ‘Enough’ was a better movie for J.Lo acting wise …. she did that well .
I find she is usually the same character in every film …which is cute … makes her likeable.
She plays all her roles well and should be recognised but I’m not sure they’re Oscar worthy ….

Jlo did a split in that movie, she is a 50 year old woman, that can break her back or legs.
