Efforts to erode Ellen DeGeneres‘ TV reign seem to be working.
After years of murmurs and arguably baseless tales of backstage bullying, this year brought with it an investigation into the star’s hit talk show and stories from a group of workers who say that their lives were ruined by a culture of calamity and a soiree of shenanigans!
Today, another employee has stepped out of the dark to reveal that her time on the show was unpleasant, and reveals that she once saw the talk show host giggle when one of her employees was attacked by a producer.
Hedda Muskat‘s story below….
Hedda joined the show in 2003 and was charged with helping Ellen and her production crew turn the series into a hit nationwide.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t long before she witnessed behaviour which left her dazed and deeply confused.
I had never seen this before, I had never been around a toxic host.
Speaking to ‘The Wrap‘, Hedda revealed that Ellen engaged in the behaviour she now appears to be distancing herself from after WarnerMedia launched an investigation into the seemingly sunny show.
One example?
Well, Hedda says that she was minding her business one day when she saw the show’s executive producer Ed Glavin humiliate a staffer by screeching at him in front of a large group of people backstage.
Hedda turned to Ellen hoping she would step in to defend her embarrassed employee and was horrified when the talk show giggled and said …
Well, I guess every production needs their dog!
Hedda believes Ellen encouraged her producers to behave in a way which denigrated the people she employed to elevate her empire.
You could just see everybody’s faces go stiff. We’re professionals; we’re adults. We don’t need a dog to get us to do our jobs … She was the only one giggling.’ ‘Ed [Glavin] didn’t act independently. Ed was a bully, but he worked for Ellen. It was her show.
Hedda’s story comes after two former employees spoke to ‘The Sun’ about their encounters with DeGeneres.
She is literally like two different people. One is awful, power-hungry and constantly yells at everyone for any little that goes wrong with the production of the show.
The other character that Ellen plays is what the world sees – a hilarious, kind and giving woman who is a fearless advocate for the LGBTQ community.
