According to THR, HBO Max will reunite the stars of the hit sitcom in commemoration of its 30th anniversary.
Anchored by Will Smith, the NBC show launched in 1990 and wrapped in 1996 after six hugely successful seasons.
The reunion special, which is being taped on September 10, will premiere on the streamer at Thanksgiving.
Produced by Smith’s Westbrook Media, the one-off will feature appearances from the likes of Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid and Alfonso Ribeiro, and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
Surprise guests are expected too. Time will tell if the latter means original Aunt Viv, Janet Hubert, will feature. Suffice to say, after the well-documented drama, it’d make for must-see TV.
Still, the ‘Fresh Prince’ remains a worldwide treasure. Hence, any such reunion is sure to magnetise the masses.
The announcement follows news of a similar themed ‘Friends’ reunion at HBO Max. It also comes on the heels of confirmation that the ‘Fresh Prince’ is being revived as a drama named ‘Bel-Air’ – which Smith is co-producing.

Not a reunion without Janet. Have a conversation and work it out.
