After amassing nearly half a billion dollars at the box office across its entire franchise, ‘The Nutty Professor’ is the latest classic film set for a reboot.

Deadline reports writer/producer James Vanderbilt – the mastermind who is currently rebooting the ‘Scream’ film franchise to add a fifth installment – is now taking on resurrecting ‘The Nutty Professor.’
As the Eddie Murphy edition of the movie is itself a remake, there’s currently no word on if the forthcoming reboot will be a remake of his version or the original Jerry Lewis version (1963).
If Murphy is eventually attached to the project it will come as the latest reboot he’s currently working on including ‘Coming 2 America’ (the sequel to 1988’s ‘Coming to America’) and more.
