Apparently, fans of CW’s ‘All American’ couldn’t wait to glue their eyes to screens for the show’s season 3 return.
The sports drama, based on the life and times of football star Spencer Paysinger, kicked off its latest run on January 18 and – if ratings are to judge by – to say it scored a touchdown would be an understatement.
Details inside:
Viewership: 1.05 million
Nearly a year after its jaw-dropping season 2 finale, ‘All American’ reassembled the show’s main cast for round 3 (Daniel Ezra, Taye Diggs, Bre-Z, Samantha Logan, etc.).
Upon its January 18 return, viewers turned to CW in droves to catch the latest antics of “Spencer,” “Coop,” “Layla,” “Olivia,” and the gang to the tune of approximately 1 million. That figure is almost double that of what the season 2 finale drew.
What’s more, the ratings not only ranks as the highest season premiere the show’s enjoyed to date but also comes as its highest rated episode overall.

‘All American’ Season Premiere Ratings
Season 1: 690,000
Season 2: 880,000
Season 3: 1.05 million
I remember when it was uncertain that there would be a season 2, and then it was added to Netflix where it found a much bigger audience. They made the right move.
Love this show with great performances week in and week out.
