With his newly announced book, ‘Act Like You Got Some Sense: And Other Things My Daughters Taught Me,’ Academy Award-winning actor, singer, and comedian Jamie Foxx – at 53-years-young – proves age and accolades don’t mean there isn’t room to grow and learn.
A semi-biographical piece, ‘Act’ sees him reflecting on words of wisdom imparted by his grandmother (from his early days of growing up in Texas) and his two daughters, Corinne and Anelise.
Slated for an October 19 release, Foxx took to social media Tuesday (June 15) to make the official announcement of its arrival.

“Yoooo I cannot wait for you to read a book that is so special to My heart mind and soul… A book about the relationships between two of the most important people in my life… My beautiful daughters… @corinnefoxx and Anelise Foxx… while writing this book I discovered feelings and emotions that I didn’t even know existed…
There would be times that I would break out laughing and also times that I would shed tears… my book gives you a bit of history of my own upbringing with my incredible grandmother Estelle Marie Talley A.K.A. “ the first Madea”… and my grandfather Mark Talley “the black John Wayne “… “act like you got some sense” is not only the title of my book but also what my grandmother used to tell me when I was a kid…
When you read my book I guarantee you will laugh you might drop a tear. And then laugh again!”
