D.L. Hughley has wasted no time responding to Mo’Nique‘s on-stage slaughter of his character during their joint show in Detroit.
As reported, the comedienne took umbrage with ‘The Kings of Comedy’ star allegedly saying that he would not perform if she were to headline the event – despite that supposedly being the contractual agreement all along.
An unfiltered rant saw Mo brand Hughley a “b*tch n***a” in front of the capacity crowd at the Fox Theater.
Now, the 59-year-old has hit back.

“All you have to do is check the order of names on the ticket stub from last night and you’ll see who’s confused. Against my better judgment, over the objections of my team and 4 other occasions where I said NO, I decided to take a chance and work with Monique. Oprah was the problem, Tyler Perry was the problem, Charlamagne was the problem, Steve Harvey was the problem, Lee Daniels was the problem, Netflix was the problem… Now it’s MY turn. At some point it can’t be everyone else, IT’S YOU!! Lesson learned. I didn’t have anything personal against Monique… People paid a lot of money to laugh, not hear about your contract. It wasn’t smart for her to talk about it on stage and try to get the audience to share in her anger. They came to laugh and find relief from stress and anger, not go home with more of it. She portrays herself one way in the press, but then says some of the ugliest things I’ve ever heard. She is too old to be name calling and throwing insults to try to make someone lose favor with the people. That’s childish, and it’s all to her own detriment. She really has some things to work on. I can’t imagine why anyone would want to work with her.

Monique’s response to the ordeal was very unprofessional. To begin, your beef should be with the producers of the show, not DL. They struck a contract with you, not him. So to attack him, is way off base. Secondly, as DL stated, folks came to see you so they could laugh, not hear about you vent about business dealings…that topic should have never made it to the stage. Pity, she conducts herself this way, as I think she’s a great talent…she just keeps getting in her own way of being as successful as she could be.
She is a comedian and was on stage making jokes about it. That is literally the culture of how they share experiences. If there was truth to it, then he shouldn’t have done it or at least been mindful about it. It would be no different than when a songwriter writing a song about a real-life situation. If he wants to get on stage on get back at her, that would be perfectly in his right to and would be entertaining.

haaaa reading this story the first thing that popped into mind was a person who always has a story about how a friend/s has done her wrong (she has at least 6 stories like this) and yes they are also a Sagittarius.

DL is on point. It’s her mouth. She is hyper-rachet. St. George Theater April Fools concert. 1. She mocked the way Corey Wise spoke who clearly speaks with an impediment, 2. Her nasty ass spent the whole gig taking crap instead of performing real comedy, 3. I didn’t pay to see her make up with Lee Daniels, I paid for comedy (but then again that too was a joke), then she had the nerve not to come out and meet and greet those who paid for front row tickets which was why we bought the tickets anyway. She’s embarrassing as a performing artist and a poster child for “angry black woman” syndrome. Plus she looked like she dressed straight out the rainbow shop for her performance. The most expensive thing she wore was probably the girdle she used to fake her “weight loss”. She lacks grace and eloquence. Need to go back to the project she came from. Hope 50′ play her for every dime she got cause I smell it coming.

I have a soft spot for Mo. she’s hilarious and she’s talented but auntie has the game f***** up. I blame it on her “daddy” husband. Once he came around everything went downhill. Monique has always been out spoken. She is naturally defensive at this point in time having gone through a messy divorce and several other contract disputes. In business it appears as if men get a better chance at getting what they want. Women seem to be burdened with having to prove their worth. And Monique takes issue with that reality regardless of who it is.
