True to his character on the hit series ‘P-Valley,’ actor J. Alphonse Nicholson – who portrays budding rapper “Lil Murda” – doesn’t take kindly to disparaging remarks about his co-star Nicco Annan (who plays the dramedy’s central character “Uncle Clifford”).
Having wrapped its season 2 on August 14, the controversial STARZ’ show remains a talking point for its exploration of taboo topics including religion and sexuality – chiefly as it relates to subjects of interest to the African American LGBTQ+ community.

As seen in the clip above, Washington weighed in on ‘P-Valley’ by claiming its gay scenes left him “traumatized.” Not only that, he made a joke about Annan’s appearance.
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)“I go to the bathroom and come back and I see ‘7 pounds of pressure’ [Lil Murda],’ he in the bed with 300 pounds of pressure. He in the bed with Uncle Clifford. Motherf*ckers should’ve gave me a tutorial. I thought ‘P-Valley’ stood for p*ssy valley,'” he said reflecting on the show’s sophomore season finale.

In the time since Plies’ video response was uploaded to the Web, J. Alphonse took to our friends at XONecole to give his two cents on the commentary.
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)“This video of Plies is going viral. Plies talking about how he was traumatized from the show,” said Nicholson. “And it’s interesting because he knew every character’s name, knew exactly what they said, and so you wonder, are people traumatized? Are you confused? Or are you just scared to kinda accept maybe who you are or those who those who are around you are?”

Nicholson didn’t stop there, however. He specifically addressed the ‘Bust It Baby’ rapper’s comments about Nicco’s appearance.
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)“I do think it’s very unkind to talk about people’s appearance and weight and like if you have something harsh to say like the ‘300 pounds of pressure’ joke. Nicco Annan is my good brother. I love that brother and I wouldn’t let anyone disrespect him to his face or through the Internet. I know I don’t say a lot about that, but talk about your own weight dog. Worry about your own height,” the ‘P-Valley’ star said of Plies who stands 5’5″. “Worry about what you got going on and don’t try to play it off to the side and say you’re not truly interested in what these stories have been and the conversations that have been started.”

At writing, Plies nor Annan have addressed the matter.

A MAN.
We need more straight men calling out other straight men.
For him to single out Uncle Clifford speaks VOLUMES!
It’s the same ones who “can’t stand f@ggots”, talking about the gay agenda…that ALWAYS seem to be caught up in a gay scandal or always have something slick to say. Why are you paying so much attention to the gay or trans and not the women you claim to like?
And quite frankly, the streets have talked about PLIES for a WHILE. He should sit this one out.
I think It’s wrong on both sides. For plies to comment about someone’s weight & act traumatized by seeing something different. I also think the show marketed itself as seeing women in a strip club. When you barely show that but have extreme gay scenes it can be a lot for ppl who weren’t expecting it.
You must worms and sawdust for brains just like Plies. If he’s been watching for two seasons he knows what the show is about by now. Lil Murda dug out Uncle Clifford in the first season and clapped Teak’s cheeks in an episode this season well before the scene with him and Clifford in bed. Why spend so much energy trying to split hairs and and “both sides” this ignorant mindset to death instead of calling it what it is: fragile, insecure masculinity on display. Glad, J wrapped his ass up
Stop it. There is not a gay scene in every episode but guess what there is religiously in EVERY SINGLE EPISODE…. Strippers on poles!! Every episode!! What you mean barely show strippers. It’s every other scene. Like what s show are you watching. You can’t both sides every argument. It makes you look stupid.
I love plies. But p valley is very good they are very good actors. I think your wrong for coming after uncle Clifford he a sweet heart. ❤# Uncle Clifford
Enough said! Let the ignorance end there! You watched the the show enough to know the plot enough to know what is going on to know the cast, NOT FUNNY AT ALL! You do not have anything on UNCLE CLIFFORD or NICCO ANNAN HE IS SLAYING BOTH THAT IS WHAT ITS ABOUT! He is carrying his weight well in both! Let’s start with your mouth before you pass words fix your grill or better yet fix you! WE DO NOT KNOW YOU LIKE WE ALL KNOW UNCLE CLIFFORD EVERYWHERE KNOW UNCLE CLIFFORD! WE LOVE UNCLE CLIFFORD AND HE IS FINE AS HELL AND SO IS LIL MURDA SO MIND YA LANE MOVE ALONG LIL ONE!

Alphonse needs to chill out. If anybody follow or know PLIES he jokes alot and he don’t mean no harm. There is truth in what he says, but this is the world we live in now where everyone so damn sensitive. Hell anybody and everybody can find humor in the show as well. You going to sensor every human being who has a joke about anybody on P- Valley. I love the show, but that don’t mean what PLIES said wasn’t funny. Do you go to a comedy show and sensor the comedian. Or do you find humor in reality. We got to stop being so damn sensitive. Nicco Annan love your character, love you. but if uncle Clifford that distraught about himself, I highly doubt he would be in front of a screen of millions making bags. We all have flaws or imperfections but we can embrace them and love who we all are instead of trying to feel ashamed about it.
Plies is upset that he didn’t get Lil Murda’s roll on the show…😭😭
