HBO Max is turning the volume all the way up on Issa Rae’s new show ‘Rap Sh!t.’
For, it’s been announced that the streamer has commissioned a second season of the music series.

Created by the ‘Insecure’ mastermind, this series centers on two estranged high school friends from Miami, Shawna (Aida Osman) and Mia (KaMillion).
Reuniting to form a Rap group, they’re tasked with navigating layered lives, complex dynamics, Black womanhood, and a music world that is equal parts alluring and ruthless.
Taking to social media moments ago, Rae trumpeted news of its return:

In a more formal statement, she said:
“We’re so happy to play in the world of Rap Sh!t for another season with this incredibly talented team.”
Showrunner Syreeta Singleton added:
“This show and cast are one of a kind and I’m thrilled to get to do this again with them. We’re going bigger and harder.”
