Marlon Wayans is waxing candid about a lengthy hiatus from the stand-up comedy circuit.
And he’s revealed the reason to be none other than fellow comic Chris Rock.

Appearing on Sway in the Morning, the star reflected on his journey in comedy and staccato trajectory.
Speaking frankly, the 50-year-old said:
“I started late.
I started at, like, 16. Then I stopped. Then I [started] again at 18. [I did that – start and stop] like, three or four times… then I stopped.
Then I did it again at 19 years old, and I [performed] maybe 50 times. But then Chris Rock heckled me and I quit for 20 years.
20 years later. I got back on stage when I was like 39. And after that I just kept going at it.
At first, you are not as funny as you want to be, but now I am in the zone.”
