Chris Rock has finally let loose about the slap seen around the world.
As seen by millions, if not billions, the comic was left stunned after Will Smith laid the smackdown on him live on the Oscars 2022 telecast in one of the most infamous occurrences in television history.
A joke about Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett is what set off a chain of events (and sayings) that are forever etched into the consciousness of Pop culture (“keep my wife’s name out of your motherf*cking mouth!”)
And now, after a calculated silence (of sorts), Rock turned the volume up on his the entire situation in a first-of-its-kind live-streamed Netflix comedy special.
Christened ‘Selective Outrage,’ the hotly anticipated event saw Rock wax candid about a whole host of topics.
But central to the broadcast was, of course, his remarks about the slap, The Smiths, and everything related.
Head below for word on what was said…
After a string of jokes aimed at Elon Musk, the Kardashians, OJ Simpson, Meghan Markle, and Michael Jackson that many social media users said fell flat, Rock got onto what most tuned in to hear about.
Speaking bluntly, he said, “It hurt.”
Labeling the ‘King Richard’ star “Suge Smith,” he continued:
“It still hurts, I got ‘Summertime’ ringing in my ears, but I’m not a victim. You will never see me on Oprah crying …no. It’s never gonna happen No, f*ck this, I took that hit like Pacquiao.”
He continued:
“Smith practices selective outrage … selective outrage because everybody knows what the f*ck happened. Everybody that really knows-knows I had nothing to do with that sh*t. I didn’t have any entanglements. An entanglement, for people that don’t know what everybody else will, it is his wife was f*cking her son’s friend. OK. Now I normally would not talk about this sh*t. But for some reason these [n-words] put that sh*t on the internet. I have no idea why two talented people would do something that fucking lowdown — what the f*ck?”
And…
“Why would you do that sh*t. She hurt him way more than he hurt me. Okay, and by the way he does this. Everybody in the world called him a b*tch. I tried to call the mother*cker …and he wouldn’t pick up for me. Everybody called that man up …everybody called him a b*tch. Everybody, and whose he hit? Me. A (n-word) he knew he could beat, that is some b*tch ass sh*t.”
Then shots were aimed at Jada Pinkett, who Rock claims was the true cause of the chaos:
“She started this sh*t. Nobody was picking on her. She said of me, a f*cking grown ass man should quit his job (as the 2016 Oscar host) because her husband didn’t get nominated for Concussion. And then this (n-word) gives me a f*cking concussion.
What the f*ck, man?
I love Will Smith my whole life. I love this (n-word). I saw him open up for Run DMC at Nassau Coliseum. These (n-word) made brand new funk. I love this (n-word). He’s made some great movies I have rooted for Will Smith my whole life. I root for this mother*cker. Okay, and now I watch Emancipation just to see him get whopped. Got me rootin for massa, okay? Now hit him again, massa. Hit him again. You missed a spot massa, you missed a spot.”
Concluding the set, which he’s been workshopping for months at shows that don’t permit cameras – the 58-year-old said:
“A lot of people go, ‘Chris, how come you didn’t do nothing back’ How come you didn’t go back that night?’ Because I got parents. That’s why,” he declared. “I got parents, and you know what my parents taught me: Don’t fight in front of white people.”
Responses on social media were mixed. With that though, what are…
Meh

He was spot on ! Kudos to him.
Black people are very interesting
He deserves to get slapped by Will that n**** still won’t keep the smith name out his yuk mouth. Chris rock a hater
Stfu this the first time he has really spoken out will a flop since the slap so again Stfu
You are both ghetto, illiterate, dummy, incoherent ramblers and one of you obsessively stans a dead crackhead, while the other stans an illiterate chipmunk “rapper” that “raps” about her wet pu$$.
And exactly what do you consider yourself to be. A overweight fat f** cosplaying as a woman on a low rank blog day in and day out…. Sounds pretty pathetic if you ask me.
The special was hilarious. I like how he addressed the slap on his own terms AND got paid for it💀
I’m not a Chris rock fan and he’s just reliving this memory by speaking on it. I wouldn’t of spoken on it. I do see if I’ve won millions and billions posted it up…. Slow people will follow every wicked thing I do…. Hmmmm, that’s creepy. How money is the root of ALL ev!l.
Money is not the root of all evil, the LOVE of money is. I’m tired of that scripture being misinterpreted. And you would have spoken on it if comedy was your profession. You’re a cashier at Walmart not the same.
Suggesting people should always include “the love of” when they say money is the root of evil is splitting hairs. That part is presumed or understood. Of course money wouldn’t lead to evil absent the fact of people being obsessed with or loving it. They actually love what the money can do for them if you want to be technical. The money has no power or effect on its own, it’s the human desires and actions when it comes to money that leads to evil and people realize this. Just because people don’t use that exact language doesn’t mean they misinterpret or don’t understand the verse.
You said all that for nothing Anne… it’s still the LOVE of money. If you’re gonna quote it then quote it correctly.
Anne is exactly right though. MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL shouldn’t need “the love of,” at the start, or “for people,” at the end because it goes without saying. What else is money going to be evil for? A cow? 🐄 Dummy.
Money itself is neither good or evil. There’s a clear distinction. The $2 sitting in your bank account isn’t evil is it. 💀 So like I said QUOTE IT CORRECTLY T********
“Money itself is neither good or evil”
You just said it yourself and still don’t get it. What a loser.
But is the $2 sitting in your bank account evil? Answer that! Or maybe it’s in the negatives. That’s more depressing than anything lmaooo. Quote it correctly I SAID WHAT I SAID argue with the wall
THE HUMAN RACE IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL
The phrase warns against the dangers of prioritizing money over other important values such as honesty, integrity, and compassion, and suggests that focusing too much on accumulating wealth can lead to moral corruption and negative consequences.
We have to get back to Christ…. !!
Or suffer DIRE consequences.
SEE, you’ve prove my theory…. I spoke on money and you spoke evil about a person you don’t know about them making money…..like you all do Christians when you feel guilty. Blame religion when you feel conflicted about the truth.
The root of it…. Starts with people loving it who will do and say wicked things…proven from your comment. If comedy was my profession… I will have people laughing so hard from the ignorant knee- grow ish that goes on today. That they’ll be holding their gut until their problems don’t seem so bad anymore with my jokes.
If you want to be ev!l, then be ev!l… g** people got their rights. Get your wicked rights…Instead of coming at the people who have human decency that is right. Be wrong and wicked nobody is stopping you but yourself.
Stfu Shayla u fat white f*****

Dude shut da fck up and let it go, you didn’t do sht there and then. let it go.
Why should he let it go? He hasn’t even really talked about it since. Y’all hold grudges for the smallest s*** but expect someone who was assaulted on national television to just brush it off. My people….smh
It’s been a whole year….he is being tested. FAILED! If he wasn’t mad then why he is calling her a b$!ch!
Chris Rock is a côon. He is milking this because he hasn’t received this much attention from anyone in years.
He is playing victim. He will run the next time he sees Will. And the way he speaks of black women, shows the type of ignorant Uncle Tom that he is
I absolutely love black-on-black crime, as it keeps my hands clean. 🍿🤣🤳🏽☕️💋

Chris rock has lightened his skin he was darker now he lightened his skin
I recommend it for all you darkies.
He waited a year. That’s too long. He admittedly messed up the joke and his show had a lot of dry moments. I like him more as an actor.

LOVE how Chris Rock has dealt with this situation, although I would have sued the f*ck outta Will Smith.
In the end…Chris Rock is banking off this incident while Will Smith’s career slowly declines.
Will Smith is nothing but a ghetto ass nicca who’s been polished and cleaned up for MAINSTREAM America.
He fooled y’all, lol
Will won the Oscar that night after the slap, got a standing ovation from their peers, and is now preparing to film Bad Boys 4, I Am Legend 2, and a few other projects. What is Chris working on now that this stand-up special and his moment of relevancy is over?
He’s still NOT respected as MAN, Father or Husband.
