Jonathan Majors‘s long-awaited trial has been postponed. Again.
Full story below…
The embattled actor, who was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment after an altercation with a former lover in a car, was set to stand trial today (September 6). This is after the original August 3 date was moved.
However, in yet another dramatic twist, Major will a little longer to make his case.
For, it was confirmed at a short hearing today that a hearing on September 15 will take place to establish a new date.
Prosecutors have claimed that they are ready for the trial. Yet, Majors’ defense team shared in court that there were “deficiencies” in discovery that must be addressed first.
It’s of note that the previous start date was delayed as the prosecution cited a need for more time for said discovery period.
As reported, Majors – by way of his reps – insists he is “completely innocent” and “provably the victim.”
Since the saga began in March, the actor’s career has hung in a unique state of limbo.
In one regard, he’s been dropped by management and his publicists, as well as from a campaign for the US Army.
Notably, though, no firm decisions have been made by many of the multinationals Majors is presently in contract with – like Disney.
