Audiences in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles are singing the praises of ‘Dicks’ – the racy new musical starring comedians Josh Sharp and Aaron Jackson as well as GRAMMY-winning rapstress Megan Thee Stallion (born Megan Pete).
Details inside.
Coming as Pete’s first major role in a feature film, the movie’s tongue-in-cheek comedy – based on a stage show by Sharp and Jackson – tells the tale of two self-obsessed businessmen who discover they’re actually long-lost identical twins. Hilarity ensues after the discovery leads them to come together to plot the reunion of their divorced parents.
Premiering to one of the top 10 best limited openings of 2023 so far, the Larry Charles-directed flick (an NSFW take on the classic ‘Parent Trap’ narrative) grossed approximately $220,867 on seven screens in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. This equates to a per screen average of $31,552.
The noteworthy debut over October 6 weekend sets the tone for an even bigger punch once ‘Dicks’ gets a national rollout starting October 20.
Until then, peep the official trailer above.
