In sad news, Emmy-winning actor Andre Braugher has died.

Renowned for his powerful performances across film and television, Braugher is especially celebrated for his captivating stint as Captain Raymond Holt in the hit police comedy series ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine.’

Reps for the star confirmed that he died today after a short illness.

Braugher, who starred in all 153 episodes of ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ – together with  Terry Crews andAndy Samberg – was 61 years old.
