Moments ago, it was announced that ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ will be returning for its third outing in the Fall.
The pick-up was resounding because it was confirmed that the series has been renewed by Fox Television Stations, while Hearst Television also renewed the talker for syndication.
Speaking on the news, Hudson – who is an EGOT winner – said in a statement:
“We are already dreaming up bigger dreams for Season 3 and I can’t wait to share them with you!”
Channing Dungey, chair and CEO of the Warner Bros. Television Group, added:
“Jennifer is a rare talent, both in front of and behind the camera. Her enthusiasm and endearing demeanor radiates from the stage and onto television screens everywhere. It’s no wonder her audience continues to skyrocket. We are so proud of the entire Jennifer Hudson Show team for their amazing success, and we look forward to another year full of exciting moments, engaging conversations, and stellar guests.”
Having launched its freshman season in the slot historically occupied by ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show,’ the Warner Bros production has found favor with audiences and earned its stripes in the notoriously tough “talk” sphere.
Indeed, it’s averaged 4.4 million total P2+ weekly viewers on average and its segments have performed in the digital sphere.
Yay, Jenny! Girl has a good show with a gorgeous set. I don’t always watch, but when I do I enjoy it.
She hasn’t fine tuned the balance between sass and insecurity. Even sass-powerhouse, Aretha, came across humble. JHud and Clarkson always bring the interview back to themselves as opposed to Oprah, who seemed to go smoothly where he interviewee wanted to take us. Mark my words: 5 years from now (if the show lasts that long), reports will come out of an intense JHud and work environment behind the scenes. At least Ellen was fun-ish.
